AMLA BERRIES

Description:
Amla berries are small, light green and, according to Ayurveda, have five tastes: sour, astringent, sweet, bitter, and pungent. Amalaki, commonly known as Amla or Indian Gooseberry, is native to India and often used in Ayurvedic medicine. “Amala” translates to pure, clean, and shining. With the suffix “Ki”, Amalaki means “That which makes you pure, clean and shining.”


Health Properties:
Amla berries support the digestion, liver function, immunity, and a healthy inflammatory response. They are abundant in antioxidants and high in vitamin C, which can reduce free radicals and strengthen the immune system. They reduce acidity and help to balance the body’s pH levels.

ACEROLA CHERRY

Description:
Acerola is a shrub or small tree that produces bright red, tart tasting cherries and small pink and white flowers. Acerola cherries are originally from Yucatán, and found growing in sub-tropical regions of South America, southern Mexico, and Central America. They are cultivated in southern Texas, Florida, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Brazil. With its widespread popularity and expanding market, Acerola juice in Brazil is like the orange juice of America.

Acerola cherries are one of the richest sources of natural vitamin C in the world. In addition, they contain bioflavonoids, such as rutin, to optimize the body’s uptake and use of vitamin C.
